Doing better

Many people have been concerned about Elena and how she is doing about the move--it's getting better. We've been reading our moving books (go Bernstien Bears!) and talking a lot. She is still upset and sad, asking, 'can we just stay in Utrecht?' Sad about leaving Ukkie. And the uncertainity (of the time) to her is a lot. Next week we will make her a chain to 'count down' the days, because every night seems to be 'tomorrow are we leaving for Blacksburg.' But she has started to grasp that Gram will be there to help us. Just this morning she was finally ready to look at pictures of our house and her new teachers and school (they have a fish tank!)

Jake and I are doing alright - the lists are long, but we've got the power and water turned on, and are working our way through prep to buy our first car. It's much easier, in someways, to move from here, we just have less stuff. But harder in others, we will need more things when we arrive and have less of an idea about the house (neither of us has seen it in person, unlike here). But it will all work out.

We are refining our 'moving mix' - Jake and I often make iTunes mixes for different events - our last for leaving California was a real tear-jerker and we listened to it alot. This one is more upbeat...since we never really thought we'd be staying in Europe that long.
