Practicing Horses
One of our big goals in Vienna was to see the Lipizzaner Stalions. Their shows are expensive and late (read not toddler material). But their morning practice sessions are in expensive and informal (read toddler friendly!). So we packed up the family and made it for the 10am start (just in time). Elena was excited to see the horse's 'practicing to walk.' They way she says practicing sounds almost like plastic-ing, very cute. The young horses were working on the dressage (Jake willl have to post details). Here is what the horses look like all grown up and dressed up for the show.

The building that they perform in is amazing, it looks like an opera hall. No photos were allowed during the practice, so these are a few afterward.

Elena even got to spend a bit of time with the adored Aunt Marfa.

The real hit was that the gift shop had small notebooks with pictures of the 'plastic-ing horses' on the cover. It entertained through many long dinners and bored time in Vienna. Best three euros I ever spent.
