Epiphany and the end of the holiday season

Today we took down our paper tree and carefully stashed the ornaments in a envelope for next year. As Jake said, when Elena is gone off to college and we are puttting up the tree by ourselves, we will cry over these paper ornaments.

The end was official today, we stopped to visit Elena's favorite nativity scene in the the antique store, they were packing up the sheppards. We had a discussion about Christmas being Jesus' birthday, so it is celebrated once a year. She announced that at her birthday, she would like to put up a tree too.
