Have Toddler, Will Travel

There is no doubt that Elena has taken our travels to heart. Recently, her favorite game is now playing 'train.' She has accumulated quite a stash of old train tickets. It goes like this: parent (the conductor) sits in the desk chair, while Elena (passenger) brings in her stack of tickets. You stamp all of the tickets one by one as she hands them to you. Preferably ask some questions about luggage, trip, etc. Then she runs full speed back to her bed 'room' where she carefully slides the tickets between the room screen into a big pile on the floor. She picks up the tickets and returns to the conductor. Repeat 20 times. Who said toddlers have short attention spans!?

Today, however, travel was recently upgraded from local to international. She turned an old colored pencil box into her 'passport.' In fact, she was concerned that it was left behind during our trip to Den Haag and asked to show her replacement to the museum cashier! Now she brings you train tickets, the passport, AND an old airline boarding pass (score!). It goes something like this:

Elena - Now stamp passport.
Parent - Thank you, how long will you be in the country?
Elena - A few minutes.
Parent - Just a short trip this time?
Elena - Going to visit Graeme. Back in little bit.
