Zalige paasdagen!

Happy Easter!
At nearly 2, Elena is old enough to hunt eggs this year. We started the morning off with an Easter bucket (we had a bucket, I don't know where to buy a basket, so good enough). The little cooking kit and small boat were a big hit. All around the living room and kitchen the Easter Bunny had stashed plastic eggs (thoughtfully imported from the US on one of the many parental returns to the states...) filled with dried candied strawberries. She didn't notice them at first. But then found one and it broke open in her hand. A quick taste of the contents revealed...BERRIES!!!!! More? More? The hunt began. And the stashing of the found berries as well. Pretty exciting, we even let her eat them before (in lue of?) breakfast. After a hearty breakfast of baked ham and handmade Dutch cheese bread pudding, we went for a lovely bike ride. The sun came out and we were even warm! When we returned home, we opened up all of the windows to let the fresh, spring air in.
