Spring arrives

It happened quickly, as the days grow longer so quickly at 52 degrees north. In early March, a sticky snow hit and covered the trees in a few inches of winter wonder land.

Then a few days later, the snow drops popped through and started the bulb season, famous in Holland.

The crocuses, in white, yellow, blue, and purple arrived about 2 weeks later.

Now the daffodils are just beginning to emerge. And I saw my first tulip on Thursday, along the side of the road, in the warmest, sunniest spot, hinting of the next round.
