Christmas Eve
It has been a wonderful Christmas weekend. On Friday, we (Nana, Grandpa, Daddy, Momma, Joanna, and Elena) drove to Grammy Sewall's for a kick off lunch. It was a wonderful day. Elena rewarded Grammy's selection of unlimited grapes as lunch fruit with a 'Gammy, licous' (toddler speak for Grammy, Delicious!) 
During lunch, Uncle Johnny called to say that he was on his was to Grammy's and would be there in just an hour (nearly 12 hours before we expected him!) What a nice suprise. After Uncle Johnny arrived, we opened a few presents (Elena helped everyone with the paper) and then Uncle Johnny played the piano. 
Christmas Eve as another exciting day. Sarah had arrived very early Saturday morning. We went for a walk over to Grandpa Scott's (pigeon Grandpa) to visit Levi and Belle to say goodbye and check out their new Maine digs until we are back stateside and can send for them. It was really hard to leave them again, but very exciting to see them. And Elena talked about it for most of the day. I forgot to mention that Uncle Johnny couldn't wait to given Elena her present - a battery powered 4-wheeler! Leave it to the uncles! A good part of the day was spent practicing taking spins (or working up the courage too!) We had a nice trip to church where Elena lasted 50 minutes and then had to go run in the church hall.
Then it was home to a lovely dinner with The Batts. Elena was up way past her bedtime! And we paid for it with restlessness all night long. We whispered 'Twas the night before Christmas into her ear as she fell asleep.
